2000 Left Coast Crime - Tucson:
Dale Furutani Flanagan in Hawaian Western
My only news is good news. My story"Dead on the 4th of July," which was published in Murder past, Murder Present, an anthology of short stories written by members of ACWL, the American Crime Writers League, published by Twilight Times Books, is an International Thriller Writers finalist--one of five. Yay! Thank you for the honor, ITW!
I'll also have an article, "Ten Wise Thoughts on Setting," published in The Writer magazine in June 2010.
No novels on the horizon.
I'll be at Left Coast Crime in Los Angeles. On a panel called Thrilling Cozies, which seems very apt right now! And that's about all for now.

The Crime Lab Project has been put together by a group of crime writers and their friends and readers who are concerned about the gap between what most people believe about the current state of forensic science and the reality faced by the many underfunded, understaffed labs and coroners'offices throughout the country. The lack of support given to labs is something that has a growing negative impact on law enforcement, justice, and national security. I support The Crime Lab Project. Please visit the Crime Lab Project web site to find out how you can help! I do hope you will take the time to read about, and perhaps even help with this worthwhile and very necessary effort.
Sincerely, Meg Chittenden
